Saturday July 24 Article and Pictures
A very special event was held this past
Saturday, July 24, 2005. Paul Topham, a master instructor with the
International Bowhunter Education Program (IBEP), conducted a
Bowhunter Education Instructor Training Course at Camp Meadowbrook
in Cullman county. Hosted by the Alabama Division of Wildlife
and Freshwater Fisheries and organized by Stuart Goldsby, sixteen
volunteers completed the training to become Certified NBEF/IBEP
Instructors.
The International Bowhunter Education Program is a standardized
course on bowhunting. The class has approximately 10 hours of
interactive classroom study and 3 hours of practical field training.
The training is presented by two to six Certified NBEF/IBEP
Instructors who have a minimum of 3 years of hunting experience,
however, the vast majority have 10 years or more. The IBEP
student course is currently required to bowhunt in 16 states and
many foreign countries and the number is growing.
