onto Hwy. 76. Go approx. 1.7 miles, turn left on Forrest Hills
Drive, cross railroad tracks and turn right on Grist Mill Road (Hwy.
180). Go 7.4 miles and it’s on your left.

Area attractions to visit:
Kymulga Grist
Mill -- Built in the 1860’s,
the Mill and Covered Bridge are listed in the National Register of
Historic Places. They are the only pair of such structures in
Alabama still standing together in their original location. The park
is the home of an Alabama champion sugarberry, some of the largest
white oaks east of the Mississippi River, and over 20 other kinds of
trees. Along the two miles of trails, plants and animals of the park
can be observed in their natural habitat. Talladega Creek and its
shoreline provide home for fish, frogs, turtles, ducks, wadding
birds, and aquatic plants. While inside the Mill visit the Country
Store for meal, grits, syrup and souvenirs to purchase.
Directions:
From Key West Inn turn right on Hwy 280, go to Red light. Turn left
on Hwy. 76 for 1.7 miles. Turn left on Forrest Hills Drive, cross
Railroad tracks, turn right on Grist Mill Road and continue 7.4
miles and it’s on your left.
Morgan Creek
Vineyards and Winery --
Founded in 2000, Morgan Creek Vineyards has quickly established
itself as one of the South’s finest and most reputable wineries. The
family owned and operated winery features a variety of wines from
dry and sweet Muscatine varietals to local grown fruit wines
including blueberry, apple, and peach. The winery is open daily for
free tours and wine tastings. Guest are also invited to shop in the
winery’s gift shop filled with wine accessories, unique local
products, and custom gift baskets. Visitors can see first hand the
art of winemaking at the state-of-the-art facility while viewing the
entire process from the vine to the glass.

From Childersburg take Hwy 280, 6.7 miles, to Harpersville. At red
light turn left on Hwy. 25 for .05 miles. Turn right on Farmingdale
Rd. for .05 miles. Turn left on Dead Hollow Rd. N. / Morgan rd. and
continue .9 miles and Morgan Creek on right.

CAVERNS PARK -- Step inside
our Great Onyx Cathedral Room and experience the wonder of being
surrounded by beautiful onyx draperies and flowstone formations,
along with a colorful sound, light and water show. Your guided tour
begins in this magnificent room which is larger than a football
field and high as a twelve story building. On your hour-long tour,
you’ll learn about the geological mystery behind the cave’s
development and its many different formations. You’ll also discover
the caverns’ rich history through stories on Native American
burials, Spanish explorers, colonial fur traders, confederate

INTERNATIONAL
MOTORSPORTS HALL OF FAME- The
international Motorsports Hall of Fame & Museum Complex includes
over 100 vehicles valued well into the millions of dollars. This
racing enthusiast’s dream is adjacent to the world famous “Talladega
Superspeedway”, the fastest track in the world. And home of the
NASCAR Nextel Cup Series. Various famous race cars are displayed in
mint condition as is ready to take their next checkered flag.
Displays include cars from winners like, Bill Elliott, Darrell Walt
rip, Marty Robbins, Ron Bouchard, “Fireball” Roberts, and many more.
Also you’ll see the Budweiser Rocket Car, resembling a rocket on
wheels, which could accelerate from 1-140 mph in one second. On Dec.
17, 1979 @ Edwards Air Force Base it broke the Speed of Sound with a
record run of 739.666 miles per hour.
