Bowhunter Education Program Student Course
February 24th & 25th
at Camp Meadowbrook in Cullman County
By President Ricky Moss
|
In July of 2005, a group of 16
began a trek toward becoming certified as IBEP Instructors for the
National Bowhunter Education Foundation. It was a HOT weekend, with
temperatures reaching 96 degrees on Saturday before the afternoon
showers set in.
This weekend course allowed us to complete the
classroom and field portions of the program. The next and final
section of the certification is to hold a student course under the
direction of the state coordinator. We have scheduled this course to
take place at Camp Meadowbrook in Cullman County on February 24th &
25th of 2006.
Who said hunter education was NOT an extreme sport? The
first part of the certification was on the hottest weekend of the
year and the February weekend we have chosen will probably be the
coldest!
In the near future, the IBEP course will probably
become an extended part of our hunter education program. Now would
be a GREAT time to get the student course behind you to help with
obtaining your instructor certification later on down the road.
